Why Google's Cloud Platform lost to Amazon's AWS
An X Google product manager explains why Google's cloud platform lost the battle to Amazon's AWS despite having better tech. By 2008, Google had everything going right with respect to cloud computing. They were the first to use Hadoop. They were the first to use containers, and they even introduced serverless computing, but the reasons behind why they couldn't outperform Amazon's AWS platform out threefold.
First, bad timing, worse productization, and worst go-to-market. This ex-product manager at Google also said "we had the better tech, but bad documentation". Something to think about.
